Construction

History
According to the past records, the groundwork stone of
Darewar fort was set around 800 years ago. However, it was vanquished and totally
rebuilt by the Nawabs of Bahawalpur in 1733 AD.
Just after a few years, the Nawab of Bahawalpur lost self-control over
the fort due to provincial instability. Though, in the nineteenth century they evoked
the fort and continued their bastion in the area for a lengthy time. During the
complete control of the Nawabs of Bahawalpur, the fort was retained from time
to time and was in its best shape. As we have already stated, Abbasi Masjid,

fort slipped from their hands owing to Bhawal khan’s preoccupation at shikarpur. Nawab Mubarak khan took the strong
hold back in 1804.1000 years old catapult shells were found in the debris near
a decaying wall in the fort.
