Our voyage endures but this week, we guise at one of major Masjid of Pakistan in the world. Abstract in 1966, this construction is a marvelous comprehension by a Turkish designer.

Greek architect-engineer and town planner Dr. Constantinos Apostolou Doxiadis (1913-1975) bestowing his first thoughts for the Dominant Plan of Islamabad.

When Islamabad was constructed to substitute Karachi as capital of Pakistan. Its dominant plan was encouraged by Greek architecture. The city trails a triangular network system towards the Margalla hills.



The capital is divided into eight purposeful zones (diplomatic, administrative, commercial, residential, special institutions, national park, forest strap and industrial).

In 1966, King Faisal bin Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia stay in Islamabad and liked the impression of a Masjid in the new capital. The Masjid is named after him as honor to his large contribution to concealment the cost of creation.

In 1969, an international competition was whispered in which planners from 17 countries submitted 43 tenders.

The winning proposal was that of Turkish architect Vedat Dalokay.
